McKenzie Reserve, Bell Street, Yarra Glen

Fantastic new playground which is centred around a huge wooden structure and surrounded by concrete paths with soft surface paths providing access to the equipment.

The main structure has a spiral slide, curved slide, shop front, scrambling wall, lots of ramps, tunnels, rope ladder, step ladder, hanging disks, inclined balance beam, balance beam with obstacles, rubber mat bridge, suspended balance beam, cubby, shop front, vertical square rope climbing frame, monkey bars and little wave slide. Some of the decking of the structure is under a shady tree which is centrally positioned.

There is also a huge pyramid rope climbing frame with a rope bridge for entry, big sandpit with a shaded area, row of balance beams made from metal and barrels, big carousel which you can spin around, huge birds nest swing (which is quite high off the ground), five swings (including one with a harness), family sized see-saw, soft mounds on a sea of wood chips, huge spinning disk, humongous dung beetles and other sculptures.

A big sandpit which is partially shaded with a rock waterfall and a water bubbler has also been installed.

There is a shelter inside the play area plus shaded and unshaded tables and seats scattered about. Water tap and toilets. Outside the play area is a shelter with tables, BBQ, grassy area and more tables. Toilets.

Great that the carousal takes wheelchairs!

We are going to the park on Saturday for my mother's birthday. We can't wait, and our only concern is the lack of a fence. This means that we will now have to supervise our children, which is disappointing because I was looking forward to talking to the other adults without having to worry about our children running away. Shame.

Brilliant park, state of the art equipment, beautiful setting. I love the sand pit with water play option. Really good facilities however I agree there should be a fence, kids are fast and if you have more than one child to watch it could be a problem.

Lovely park, colourful and full of fantasy, clean and different. Nice for adults as well as for children. Hope we keep it that way! - Alicia January 2013

Don't worry about the lack of fence, just supervise your children. Fantastic park and playground, lots of shade and green lawns, excellent and well-maintained playground.

Great park, shame about the lack of fence.
