Mt Baw Baw - Great Walhalla Alpine Trail
The Great Walhalla Alpine Trail follows the first 40 kilometre section of the Australian Alps Walking Track, one of the world's great Alpine walks stretching 680 kilometres (422 miles) from Walhalla to Canberra.
The Great Walhalla Alpine Trail is blessed with a wide range of beautiful scenery in the Baw Baw National Park. Alpine meadows with native wildflowers, twisted snow gums, towering mountain ash, pre-historic myrtle beech, stunning geological formations, fast flowing streams, fern glades, timber and gold heritage, wild rivers and native fauna and flora. All are to be experienced and fully enjoyed on the Great Walhalla Alpine Trail.
The Great Walhalla Alpine Trail recognizes the desire to challenge yourself and the sense of achievement. The trail can be quite testing and we require participants to undergo some fitness training prior to undertaking the walk.
The best thing about the Great Walhalla Alpine Trail is that it's all inclusive. The Great Walhalla Alpine Trail realises that it is often hard for you to organise these types of activities by yourself especially when you're coming from overseas. For this reason we have done the hard work for you.
