With over 100 kilometres of trails across all levels of ability, Mt Buller is the place to test your mountain biking skills or try the sport for the first time. Join us on top of the world at Mt Buller and experience the exhilaration of biking at altitude.

Whatever your interests, from the thrills of the downhill course to the burn of the uphill road challenge and the freedom of our cross-country trails, there's something perfect for you here at Mt Buller.

Cross-country
Mt Buller's varied terrain and magnificent views combine to make it the ideal location for cross-country mountain biking. With an altitude that ranges from 400 metres to 1804 metres, and a variety of trails that stretch between Mt Buller and the neighbouring Mt Stirling, the High Country has plenty of trails to keep you entertained.

Downhill
In summer, Mt Buller's premier snow runs turn into the ultimate downhill mountain biking course with a variety of challenging technical trail features such as berms, ramps and jumps. Mt Buller features four downhill mountain biking trails that are serviced by the Horse Hill Chairlift from Boxing Day until end of January. All riders must have a valid pass that covers the use of all mountain bike trails and the chairlift. Outside of the chairlift operating period a shuttle is operated by Blue Dirt Mountain Biking.

There is even a fun pump track in the Mt Buller village which is a modular track with over 100m of jumps, bumps and berms, and a beginner bike park for those wanting to learn how to berm.

The Mt Buller Village has a dedicated bike rental and retail shop, All Terrain Cycles, which offers servicing, spares, local knowledge and a friendly chat. They can be contacted on (03) 5775 2724.

Blue Dirt Biking shuttles operate every weekend during the season. Please book online in advance.

The downhill trails are:

Home Trail 2.5 km Downhill. A great flowing ride for all downhill enthusiasts. Ride down the main road until you reach 'Hell Corner'. Take the track leading off Hell Corner and at the first intersection take a hard right down the Home Trail. Follow the vehicle trail to either exit at Skating Rink or Tyrol Carparks, or flow all the way to the bottom at Chalet Creek (Green easy level)
Copperhead 2.5 km Flow/Gravity. Australia's first flow down trail begins at the Northside Discovery Centre, snaking its way down Shaky Knees ski run. Large deep berms pump riders out and into a descent past Alpine Central through a number of switch backs before joining Home Trail, then it's a final plunge through a number of fun and flowy corners, over a bridge and finishing at the Chalet Creek mid-station of the Northside Express Chairlift (Blue intermediate level)
Outlaw 2 km Downhill. Starts at the back of the car park near Spurs Restaurant (F8). A couple of switchbacks then the trail flows with land contours through snowgums and small drop-offs. Continue down the steep Damn Run switchbacks onto open fire road to access chairlift (Blue intermediate level)
Abom Downhill 2.2 km Downhill. The original downhill trail at Mt Buller, raced and ridden for years, includes fast, open straights with sweeping corners, berms and numerous switchbacks (Blue intermediate level)
International 2 km Downhill. Not for the faint hearted. The most advanced trail at Mt Buller, International is an extremely technical trail with commiting features. Recommended for expert riders only. Features extremely technical terrain including sustained rock sections, jumps, berms, bridges and drop-offs and includes the iconic 'Mark's Madness' (Black advanced level)

The cross country trails are:

Picnic Trail 0.45 km Cross Country. A gentle climb through snowgums on singletrack with some fun flowy sections. Use Picnic Trail to access Cornhill or the entrance to the upper (steeper) stages of the Delatite River Trail (Green easy level)
One Tree Hill 0.63 km Cross Country. Climb the first few switchbacks from Stirling Road, to be rewarded by a meadow of Alpine Trigger Plants amongst the snowgums. The descent can be fast and fun, so slow down and enjoy the berms to suit your skill level. The trail briefly joins with Family Trail, behind the Duck Inn, and then flows into Gang Gang's the other side of Goal Post Road (Green easy level)
Soul Revival 0.45 km Cross Country. Enter the trail off Family Trail, below Enzian Hotel. It meanders its way up through the snowgums and pops you out at Stirling Road where you can continue across to One Tree Hill for more fun flowy trail (Green easy level)
Misty Twist 2.6 km Cross Country. Appropriately named, this trail features the purest form of Jacobs-designed single track down through beautiful alpine woodland followed by an equally enjoyable and flowing ascent back to the summit of Corn Hill (Blue intermediate level)
Box Corner Link 0.70 km Cross Country. Easy access to the lower (easier) sections of the Delatite River Trail from the Mt Buller Tourist Road, or can be used for riders wishing to exit Delatite River Trail and ride the Mt Buller Tourist Road back to the Village (Blue intermediate level)
Clancy's Run 2 km Cross Country. From the top of Misty Twist, continue along the fire trail. Take a breather and enjoy the unique view of Mt Buller before launching yourself down the fast and exhilarating single track back to the Picnic Table (Blue intermediate level)
Cornhill Trail 1 km Cross Country. Steep rocky ascent on a mix of narrow single track featuring, some tight switchbacks, flowing technical sections and wide fire trail to the intersection of Woolybutt and Medusa Trails (Blue intermediate level)
Gangs Gangs 1.4 km Cross Country. The trail begins with some tight technical turns and berms, flowing onto a gently traversing single track. At the junction with the Split Rock link, either drop down the slightly steeper flowy section to complete Gang Gangs and access more trails beyond Cornhill Rd, or use the link to skip (Blue intermediate level)
Plough Shed Entry 2.7 km Cross Country. Access the Delatite River Trail from the Plough Shed on Mt Buller Tourist Road via this descending fire trail. Be aware of fallen tree debris from the towering mountain ash above (Blue intermediate level)
Snowgums 1.1. km Cross Country. A link trail allowing for connectivity from mid-trail on Copperhead, up to cross over the Mt Buller Tourist Road and access to Gang Gangs. Combine this with Split Rock, Family Trail and Copperhead for a sweet loop. Can now be ridden as a downhill trail (from Gang Gangs down into Copperhead) (Blue intermediate level)
Split Rock 0.9 km Cross Country. A link trail allowing for riders to return from the further reaches of the Mt Buller trail network and Corn Hill Road back to the Mt Buller Village (Blue intermediate level)
Trigger Happy 2.2 km Cross Country. From Woolybutt Trail or Howqua Gap, head back across Cornhill via this single track through the alpine woodland and enjoy the gradual flowing ascent back to the Cornhill area (Blue intermediate level)
Wombat 0.43 km Cross Country. Return from Cornhill or the Picnic Trail loop via this pleasant ride through snowgums back to the Skills Parks on Cornhill Road. A few rocky sections will keep you on guard (Blue intermediate level)
Woody's Run 1.2 km Cross Country. Woody's Run allows riders to "short cut" the Delatite River trail, and is a very rough fire road descent. For those riding bigger gravity bikes who don't wish to pedal around the full Delatite River Trail, take this route. For entry level and low intermediates best stick to Delatite River Trail (Blue intermediate level)
Woolybut 1.7 km Cross Country. Head towards Mt Stirling on wide undulating fire trail before exiting this, and descending through superb singletrack to Howqua Gap (Blue intermediate level)
Stonefly 10 km Cross Country. Stonefly is the iconic alpine single track, a must-do ride when visiting Mt Buller & Mt Stirling for the avid rider. A 10km loop starting and finishing at Howqua Gap, 6km up, 4km down and 90% flowing, purpose-built, mind-blowing singletrack (Black advanced level)
