Marlo - Paddle Steamer Curlip II

Far East Gippsland offers an old time experience cruising on the Snowy River Estuary in the Paddle Steamer Curlip a boat constructed out of local hardwood timbers and powered by a steam engine.

Glide past rushes, graceful herons and contemplative cows as the paddle wheels churn rhythmically on. Vistas of distant mountains frame waterways full of birds: black swans, cormorants, pelicans and ducks. As you pass by a sea eagle's nest high atop a tree in the rainforest, the aroma of fresh coffee from the galley drifts across the clean air...

Paddle Steamer Curlip is no longer located or operating from Marlo or Orbost. She has been re-located to the Gippsland Lakes at Paynesville, where the vessel is undergoing a major rebuild under the control P.S.Curlip Inc the not for profit community based association who rescued and removed the Paddle Steamer to her new area of operations. The new board of management are seeking crowd funding and government assistance to rebuild her hull devastated by Teredo Naval Wood worms. Visit www.curlip.com.au for complete information or follow the email links in the new website.
