Ballarat Tramway Museum (Lake Wendouree)

Ballarat Tramway Museum (Lake Wendouree)

The Ballarat Tramway Museum operates a collection of historic trams along a return track of 3.2 km on Wendouree Parade.

The Museum entrance fee includes exploring our new Museum building, which has up to seven tramcars on display along with various exhibitions and activities, plus a tram ride. The trams on display include Horse Tram No. 1 of 1887 and examples of early Victorian trams built prior to 1920 - these trams ran in Ballarat, Melbourne and Geelong.

Take a ride on one of the 90 year old trams which provided Ballarat's main form of passenger service until 1971. The vintage tram ride covers 1.3km of original line through the beautiful Botanical Gardens by the western side of tranquil Lake Wendouree and takes about 20 minutes.
