Review:

The farm has a wide range of animals and birds which are spread between paddocks, aviaries, petting areas and wandering free range throughout the farmyard. An example of the free range type is a goat which is adept at jumping up onto tables, especially when there is a hint of food.

One of the most exciting areas for kids is the barn which is partitioned off with enclosures with different animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits and pigs. A few kids at a time can go inside the enclosure and interact with the animals.

In the centre of the farm yard is a big shady tree with a sandpit underneath with lots of toys. There are plenty of trikes and plastic cubby houses for kids as well as swings.

One side of the farm has a set of long train carriages where you can make a free cuppa or grab a very reasonably priced drink or ice cream. Food and drinks work on an honour system, take what you need and put the money in the pink piggy.

Scattered around the train are lots of shaded and unshaded tables and fun play items.

The farm has been operating for more than 40 years and don't go expecting everything to be tidy and pristine. A visit comes with an element of disorder, dilapidation and general untidiness but that just adds to the casual and friendly environment.

A visit here is great value for a family and how long you spend here is up to you.

There are a variety of extra items for sale including free range eggs (hen and duck), ice-creams, pies, pasties, sausage rolls, quiches, soft drinks, fruit juice, bottled water and peacock feathers. Everything is very reasonably priced.

Pony and horse rides are available on weekends, school holidays and public holidays. Pony rides were $2 (80m) or $5 (200m) and horse rides were $5 (200m).
