Jack Roper Reserve Adventure Playground, Camp Road, Broadmeadows

Wooden adventure fort style playground with lots of possibilities for fun play. Includes a slide, climbers, traverse, flying fox, scrambling wall, vertical chain climbing wall, walkways, steps, ladders and tunnels.

A smaller separate wooden structure with a slide and shop front. This area also has two swings, Liberty swing, wooden boat outline and large see-saw. Large shelter with a seat.

Area with BBQs and unshaded tables. Toilets and water tap. The noise from the Western Ring Road is a little intrusive but you get used to it after a while. Located near a big lake with plenty of water birds.

There is a road to the playground leading from Camp Road.

Given the last review was 2 years ago, I can say that they've cleaned the place up Nicely. Great square fort - that could use a little maintenance, but is still a Great design. New looking rope course is fun, but the highlight for the younger kids would have to be the Harnessed Flying Fox that kids of almost any age could experience! Seems the tables & BBQ may have been upgraded since this review, as they are all under cover, and appear in good condition (I count 6 electric BBQs and 3 gazeboed tables just from where I'm standing on the tower of the Fort) On top of all this, is a gorgeous variety of bird wetland variety that is on the attractive lake near by. Overall, I really like this secluded park, but the council needs to give it some attention, as the wood is starting to look quite worn on the fort. Having said that, the smaller kids fort looks newly refurbished, and at this point in time, the Liberty swing has been removed, so hopefully the council is in the midst of addressing these issues. Oh, and the traffic noise doesn't seem that distractive, interesting walk across the Western Ring Road bridge would certainly be a highlight for the Boys!! *8vD

I did not like this playground. It seemed to be dirty and lots of graffiti. The playground structures themselves are good, but are run down a bit. I will not be going back to this playground anytime soon, which is the first time I have said this about a 9 Star playground.
