Fairbairn Park Playground, Woods Street, Ascot Vale
This playground took a beating when the Maribyrnong River flooded. The highlight now after an upgrade is a large sandpit (or rather small stone pit), which has a giant gecko sliding through it, sand play equipment, digger and a superb tugboat named Scruffy.
Next to this area is a ramp leading up to a wooden hut with a small slide and a hanging rope net. Another area has a smallish rope pyramid climbing frame, balance circuit, four swings and a structure with a tree step ladder, shopfront, vertical rope net and little tunnel slide.
There is a big BBQ, two partly shaded tables, water tap, big grassy area and toilets. Close to the Maribyrnong River so care needs to be taken with small children.
