Pitcher Park Playground, Separation Street, Alphington

Pitcher Park Playground, Separation Street, Alphington

This playground was a star in an article I wrote titled "The Most Disappointing playgrounds in Melbourne". The ugly duckling has developed into a lovely swan.

There are two playground structures for different ages. The higher one has a fun climbing wall with handholds being the mouths of green frogs splattered on the wall, a metal wave slide, fireman's pole, tricky ladder and interesting monkey bars. The smaller and lower structure has a metal wave slide, metal ladder, climbing wall and a swing for toddlers. Also a big sand pit, sit on carousel, curved row of rocks and logs to walk along and a lovely aeroplane springer.

This is one of the lovely playgrounds in this area where parents have left toy trucks for kids to play in the sand.

BBQ, water tap and unshaded seats. Most of the playground area is fenced. Fun see-saw outside the main play area and next to an oval. Unfortunately there are no tables. The playground was upgraded in 2015.
