Balwyn Judo Club (Kew East)

The curriculum for each age group is based on the grade syllabus of the Judo Federation of Australia. In each case, additional material is presented to make sure that all members are given a rounded education in the full range of judo knowledge, techniques, strategies and training methodology.

The classes are:
Junior Class
Up to 15 years old
In this class we concentrate on etiquette, fun, throwing and holding
The minimum age is 7 years old

Senior Class
Senior class: from 16 on, but bigger under 16s are encouraged to attend this class
This class covers the full curriculum of modern competitive judo and classical martial art judo.

Located at Kew East Uniting Church Hall.

Opening Hours:

Currently we run two classes per week:
Tuesdays at 5.00 pm for Juniors (90 minute class plus 15 minutes preparation time)
Tuesdays at 6.45 pm for Seniors (90 minute class plus 15 minutes packing up)

Cost:

Casual attendance per class: under 10: $ 8.00, under 16: $ 9.00, over 16: $11.00.

Membership includes State registration fee. The fees are paid in 3 parts as follows :
Joining (1st year only) + Annual (each year) plus Class (quarter)
under 10: $22.00 (Joining), $70.00 (Annual), $70.00 (Quarter)
under 16: $27.00 (Joining), $80.00 (Annual), $80.00 (Quarter)
over 16: $35.00 (Joining), $96.00 (Annual), $96.00 (Quarter)

Spare suit-tops are available so that beginners can start straight away without having to purchase a judogi (judo suit) on the first night.
