Carnegie Swim Centre




Facilties include four heated outdoor pools, kiosk, electric barbecues, learn-to-swim classes, beach volleyball court, shade and disability lift.

The Carnegie Swim Centre has a variety of programs to suit every member of your family.

Family Events
This summer the Carnegie Swim Centre is offering a great variety of events for your family including Family Fun Day, Jazz by the Pool, Big Splash Out, YMCA Movie Night as well as school holiday fun.

Adult Programs
Adult Swim Lessons, Dive Clinics and Swimming Squads are all available at the Carnegie Swim Centre - ask at Customer Service for details.

Aquatic Education
The YMCA AquaSafe program is a progressive aquatic education program that has classes for all ages and abilities. The program focuses on stroke development and personal aquatic survival skills. Staff members are fully qualified - including extra infant qualifications for instructors who are teaching pre-school children (3yrs+). Students are encouraged to progress at their own pace.

Lap it Up Program
The Glen Eira Lap It Up Club is designed for recreational swimmers who are looking for something more than simply swimming up and down the pool. With a rewarding incentive program, the Lap It Up Club helps to set goals and gives you real motivation to acheive them.

AquaSafe Holiday Program
Y Splash is a school holiday aquatic education program offered at all YMCA's throughout Victoria during school vacations. The purpose of the Y Splash program is to:
  • Provide a holiday activity with an educational base
  • Provide an introduction to the aquatic environment
  • Introduce and/or enhance personal water safety skills
Located in Koornang Park.

Opening Hours:


The swim centre is open for the summer season from 31 October 2009 until 31 March 2010.

Monday to Friday: 6am–7pm
Saturday and Sunday: 8am–6pm
Public holidays: 8am–6pm
Closed on on Christmas Day
If the forecast temperature is 30 degrees celsius or above, pool hours will be extended to 8pm.

Fantastic pool area with lots of shade and space to relax when not swimming. Pool temperature is great not to cold.
