Review:

All the pools and slides are outside with some trees, shade sails, big umbrellas and shelters for shade. There are extensive grassy areas including a basketball court.

The entry prices are quite low for a family but the price of the Giant Waterslide is extra and can mount up. There are clean but old fashioned men's and women's change-rooms and one family room (key available at the entrance).

There is a kiosk serving hot food such as chips and pies, ice-creams and lollies. There is not a cappuccino or latte in sight, in fact, plain tea or coffee are not even available. There are nine little tables inside next to the kiosk. There are shaded tables and a free BBQ inside.

The 50m pool was nice and warm and varies in depth from 1.1m at one end, 1.4m in the middle and 3.5m at the other end. The intermediate slide is a straight slide down a small incline into a shallow 0.9m deep, chilly pool. The ride is much faster than you would expect. This slide is only for children younger than 10 years old and this is strictly enforced and therefore it is not possible for a parent and their child to go down the slide together.

The Giant Waterslide was not working when we were there but it does look quite exciting. You start at the top of a tall tower and the slide twists around before entering a steep section before levelling out and ending in a small 1.2m pool. The slide is an open half-pipe shape.

There is quite a bit for toddlers with a toddlers pool with partial covering with shade sails, beach entrance and 0.6m deep at the other end plus an extensive splash area full of different sprays coming out of the ground or equipment. The water flow periodically stops and starts again.

As Casey Council homeowners pay a tidy sum in rates it would be nice for the Council to offset the admission cost to be more reasonable. Besides when the Doveton Pool came into being it was through the local residents banding together to provide an entertainment means for the locals. Before people bang on about admission costs note that Casey council does not do much for Doveton as it is! I live near by.

Doveton pool in the park is probably the best pool I've ever been to. There's hardly ever rubbish and the bird dropping is going to happen its an out side look if you don't like it why don't you clean it yourself . I've going to that pool since I was in grade 1 and I have now just finished year 11 and haven't ha a problem at that pool once !!

I think this pool is the best pool ever. I mean the bird dropping eww but there are a few things that they could improve but it's great!

I have taken my kids to Doveton Pool numerous times and they have had a ball!! Not much you can do about the bird droppings, it seems to be mainly around the toddler pool, however I have always found the water to be extremely clean (PS, they are outdoor pools so bird droppings are a given). My kids are aged 21 months and 3 1/2. I think it's a great and inexpensive way to entertain the kids on those hot days.

I've been there multiple times and it has been great! I can take my kids there every summer!! The effort that the staff put in to clean the centre, both in and out, is of high standard. Unfortunately, there is nothing much that they can do about bird shit. I have spoken with both the lifeguards and the managers, and they have stated that it is an ongoing battle. At the end of the day, it is what you should expect. It is a much better offer than swimming in a stuffy indoor pool or a filthy lake!! I applaud the team at Doveton Pool in the Park. Keep up the good work guys :)

I think that its awesome that its outdoors but they really need to learn to keep it clean. One time i went there i found a dead bird in there.

Really needs some TLC what the hell do we pay taxes for i guess not to keep these pool clean. I took my son there and there was bird droppings all over the toddlers pool i am sure that's not healthy. Come on Casey counsel why both opening if you know its in this condition. I mean why would anyone pay to swim in bird droppings maybe if you cleaned it people would go to it more often.

Dirtiest pools I've ever taken my family to. Sand/dirt in the bottom of the toddlers pool, food wrappings floating in and around the water. Employers could put on better service it wouldn't hurt would it.

The dirtiest pools I've ever been to. Bird droppings all around & in the pool. There is rubbish everywhere out the front. Seriously, doesn't anyone care enough to clean the place?
