Landcox Park, Mavis Avenue, Brighton East

Fairly basic playground. The main structure has a spiral slide, inclined climber, ladders, small straight slide, walkway, flying fox and monkey bars. Also four swings, springers, see-saw and a wooden cubby house with table inside, slide and steps. Table and seats without shade. A small part of the playground is covered in shade.

Large park area with plenty of room to play. Drinking fountain and toilets. There is a fairly unattractive lake nearby with lots of reeds around the banks. There are ducks around but enticing them towards your offerings of bread is another matter. I would suggest that you cover all possibilities and bring fresh bread. In the event that the ducks do not appear then at least you have something fresh to eat.

This park was infested with roosting introduced Common Mynas years ago. Bayside council has a new policy- no feeding birds likely to cause people a problem. Is that in response to the Myna problem? They can be trapped - see Canberra's success, online

I took my daughter there often in 1986. There were lots of big white ducks , maybe geese. I have lots of photos of my daughter surrounded by them, feeding the bread.

A lovely park to walk the dog on a lead. Children love to play around the lake & watch the ducks. Duck feeding is not encouraged as they need to find their natural food. A great place for a picnic with a play area for the kids. Plenty of shade under beautiful old trees & lots of benches to sit & relax.

Beautiful park perfect for a picnic! There are many beautiful trees as well. The little lake was always a natural forming water hole "perhaps fed from the old Elster Creek bed that runs behind Wairoa Ave, one street over. Many children of the area have grown up in this lush park and remember being chased by an old white duck that resided there. Nowadays only native wetlands birds arête found nesting and swimming around the pond. I love walking in this park in spring.
