Collingwood Childrens Farm (Abbotsford)

Collingwood Childrens Farm (Abbotsford)

Only 5km from the centre of Melbourne, nestled on a bend of the Yarra River lies seven hectares of paddocks, gardens, orchards, rustic buildings and shady trees.

Every day, visitors can help herd the chickens, ducks and geese from their overnight accommodation into the orchard, brush the cow while she breakfasts in the barn, cuddle a guinea pig, waddle with the ducks, visit the sheep and the goats for a pat, or just sit and unwind under a shady tree or on the banks of the Yarra. No need to go hungry either - the Farm Cafe serves excellent coffee, lunches and snacks.

You can also buy fresh produce - fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers - all grown in the Farm market gardens. And you can buy super fresh eggs laid by the Farm's friendly free-range chickens. The Farm shop stocks a lovely range of goodies that are perfect as gifts for your favourite people.

Birthday Parties
The Children's Farm has long been one of Melbourne's best venues for a children's birthday party and now it has some of Melbourne's best party food to go with it. Please take note that our Hosted Birthdays are often booked out months in advance. Currently we release dates for booking approximately 13 months in advance.

Review:

The best advice is to visit the Farm in the morning and participate in the daily Farm schedule through the day. Once inside the Farm, there is a feeling of being isolated and far from the city. There are plenty of animals to see and to pat. Even on a lovely sunny day the Farm is never over-crowded. Another big plus is that the admission price is very reasonable.
