Bayfit Leisure Centre (Altona North)




Bayfit Leisure Centre provides the public and private groups with an indoor 10 lane 25 metre lap pool, Learn to swim pool, hydrotherapy pool as well as spa and steam room. Access to pools is made easy with wheelchair access ramps along with the availability upon request of a water wheelchair.

To ensure comfortable temperatures for swimming, each of the pools are regulated to specific temperatures for different activities.

Aquatics Area
BayFit provides for the complete range of age and swimming ability. Features include:
  • An eight lane 25-metre lap pool (set @ 26.5 - 27.5 degrees)
  • A learn-to-swim and leisure pool (set @ 31 - 32 degrees)
  • A warm water program pool suitable for aqua aerobics and injury recovery (set @ 32 - 34 degrees)
  • A relaxing spa (set @ 34 - 37 degrees) and steam room (set @ 42 degrees)
  • Inflatable fun-days, held on weekends and school holidays

Australia's leading swim school, Carlile Swimming, manage and operate the swim school at BayFit. Carlile Swimming offer swimming classes that support every skill level at all ages from the building of water confidence in their Waterbabies program starting at 3 months of age through to their comprehensive squad training programs which prepare swimmers for competition.

Carlile Swimming will also offer a Swimvac program, for those customers seeking intensive tuition during school holidays. This will commence during the term 2 school holiday break from 29th June and continue through all school holiday periods thereafter.
