Review:

The Play Centre is a rectangular shape with tables and serving area at the front, four party rooms and a jumping castle along one side, a well equipped toddler area on the left side and the main play structure at the end which has three parallel wave slides and a two storey tunnel slide.

A train and carriages circles around part of the structure. The train runs periodically depending on the demand (usually for parties).

The main structure has some obstacles, webbing bridge and two aircraft cockpits. The toddler area has a ball pit, soft ramp leading to a slide, cubby, soft mats, various soft hills and obstacles and a rollercoaster track with a horse vehicle.

There is a merry-go-round with an elephant, lion and zebra (need to pay) plus a few other machines dispensing tacky presents (for a price).

The play centre has a fairly limited range of equipment compared to some other centres but the train and parallel slides are the highlights. The centre has high roofs and is nice and bright.

The party rooms are decorated quite modestly. The toilets are clean and tidy. The Play Centre has very low prices during summer but they increase to be comparable to other Centres during the winter months.

Use to go there and stopped. Recently went there and there is now new management who have put the prices up and my friend had to pay for her 6 month son who used nothing at the centre. The train only goes from 11.30 for 15 mins then you have to wait till 1.30pm for the next ride. The food is expensive and there is nothing new there all the same as a few years ago. Also my daughter got bitten by something there and her foot is swollen and I had to take her to the doctors and put her on antibiotics!!

Excellent service. Have been going here for 4 years, New Management makes a real difference. Had my sons 3rd birthday a few weeks ago and it was lovely. Very friendly service, nice and clean. Adult platters had fresh delicious sandwiches with a great variety. Love the train! Have booked the bbq outside area for the end of the year and looking forward to it !!!

Had the best after hours private function for my 6 years old daughter. The place was spotless. Play equipment and train were real fun for the children. Family and friends enjoyed the night and the catering provided by the centre. Already booked the centre for my Husband 40th birthday.

Have taken my daughter here quite a bit since she was 10 months old. As many have commented they do not moniter older kids going into the baby/toddler area, but suppose it's hard if older kids have younger siblings in there. I have thought of having a party there, but all I could see coming out was, fried, baked brown stuff. No fresh sandwiches, fruit etc, nothing really healthy in fact, however if you're OK with chips, party pies and nuggets the it's fine and they let you bring your own cake in! Good for mother groups to meet and the place is clean. The only other thing is sometimes staff close it early midweek if there is not a lot of kids.
Just love it      Posted:    5:52 PM February 10, 2012

I took the kids to the centre few weeks ago for the first time. Very reasonable entry price. I have a toddler and a 6 year old, kids loved the centre. The toddler's area is very safe and fenced from the older kids. The weather was terrible outside so the Kids played for hours in the air conditioned centre. I had the best relaxing time watching the kids play while sipping my coffee. Very neat and clean. It is our twice a week routine now.

I had my daughters 4th Birthday on Saturday and she loved every minute of it at Hijinx. The place was clean, spacious and the staff were wonderful. The party food was generous even the guests commented on the amount of chips each child recieved on their plate and i only ordered the fun party package at $11.00 per head. In addition i ordered 5 platters for my guests as i had 28 children attend and i didnt want any of the parents to be hungry and there was food left over after the party so i have to say that the platters are value for money at $40!! Definately will be having a party there in the future for my other daugther very impressed indeed!

My son had his 8th birthday last weekend. Loved the place, service and food. We had great time, kids loved the train rides. We ordered food platters for the adults and they were value for money. Best coffee in town. Loved it. Will definitely go back.

Took my 14mo son here last week, the toddler area was pretty clean, but no toys for him to play with or push around. No staff control on older kids in the toddle area, but I guess it's like that at most centres. The cons - high chairs were disgusting, and these were the ones sitting in the high chair bay...you'd think they would get cleaned as often as the tables...
not happy never go again       Posted:    3:52 PM December 11, 2011

Went to there Sat 10 Dec as got told service food was good. Well if the service was good I might need to go to mental hospital. Got there ten minutes early got told to wait out front as room wasn't ready. Then fifteen minutes later got told they haven't finished and we can go in centre and play until room is ready. Once ready the room was slippery as just thrown mop on it. Kids meal was ok but once they got a feed not even given time to finish. The cake came out so instead of letting them finish they had to sing happy birthday. Well surprise surprise kids see cake they no longer want food, just cake. The lady said it's OK l'll put cakes next to them but yeah ok you have kids do you , so the WIFE CLEANED THE TABLE. We also got a pizza platter which cost me $40. The pizza were round shaped and no larger than 5cm and there was 10 of them and they were cold microwaved for forty bucks. I could of brought 6 large pizzas and fed my guests I was totally embarrassed on what my guests were thinking Big slide has three runs on it - one was broken half way down with tape on it and blocked off top and bottom but no where else. Only take one kid to slide to really done damage. Never go there again.

I went a few weeks ago, it was over crowded and had to pull my chid out as there were much older kids that didn't have any respect for my child in the younger childrens play area. I saw only two adults in charge of the centre and one was throwing balls back in the play area without caring that it was hitting the kids. Will be looking for a new centre to go to in future..

My wife just took our 2yo there this afternoon. Being the holidays you would expect more kids...but it was manic. The toddlers' area was overrun by much older kids, which my wife had to ask to leave the area. There were only 2 staff that she could see and they were in the kitchen. May visit again once the holidays are over to give it a second chance...

Party food is a joke. Expensive, small servings... the party pies aren't even standard size, they are tiny! I was embarrassed by the food I had to serve our geusts.... so I moved the party to McDonalds down the road and paid an additional $250 to feed the guests again Almost $600 later - could have had a Melbourne Zoo party for that much $$$
