Napier Park Playground, Torwood Avenue, Glen Waverley

The playground is nicely landscaped with rocks and logs and has a wooden tower commanding over one corner. Routes up and down the tower include steps, fireman's pole, scrambling wall and wave slide. Underneath is a cubby area and shop front.

In the main area is a giant gecko. Flies in this part of town should be afraid, terribly afraid of this monstrous lizard. There is also a small structure with log steps and wave slide, balance course, little four person rocker, inverted U-shaped see-saw, birds nest swing, monkey bars, horizontal bars for pull-ups, roman rings and swings.

In addition there are three lovely totem poles carved with Australian motifs, two unshaded tables, water tap with bowl for dogs, bins and stepping logs lead to a cute round table with wooden seats. The playground, which has been upgraded, is located next to grassy areas and two baseball fields - watch out for homers coming over the fence. There is an outdoor gym.

Napier Park is home to the largest baseball club in Australia; the Waverley Baseball Club. There are eight playing diamonds and two pavilions within the park.

The baseball field is surrounded by beautiful bushland setting, with links to Shepherds Bush and the Dandenong Creek Trail, perfect to use the walking track for your daily exercise. The reserve is also a dog off-lead area to exercise your dog.
