Reg Harris Reserve Playground, Carmichael Road, Oakleigh East
A lovely playground which is very popular with families. The main wooden structure is under a shade sail and has dual wave slides, spiral slide, nice big climbing wall, high net bridge (if you dare), cubby area, tunnel, steering wheel and monkey bars. Also a fish springer with luscious lips, see-saw, metal container which makes noises when you turn it, sit-on carousel, birds nest swing, standard swings and basketball court.
A dry creek bed with rocks and stepping stone tracks lead around the playground area which is nicely landscaped.
There are three tables under shade sails, BBQs, water tap including a bowl for dogs, unshaded seats and toilets. Close to the playground are some ponds with bridges, rock areas and a lot of high reeds. Care needs to be taken with young children in this area. There is a big sloping grassy area with lots of gum trees around the edges.
The playground was upgraded in late June 2016.
