Linda Jean Dancing Academy (Yarrambat)
Linda Jean Dancing Academy aims to develop each individual student to reach their full potential. We aim to pass on a love of dance whilst developing strong technical and performance qualities in all students.
Classes in tap, jazz, hip hop, classical ballet, dance acrobatics, modern vocal, contemporary, pilates, musical theatre, strength/conditioning, preschoolers.
A fun and disciplined dance school for children from 2yrs to adults, beginners to professional. Exams and competitions optional.
Our Academy has two equipped studios with timber floors. One studio is fully equipped with mirrors.
There is a parent waiting area fully glassed for viewing of classes.
Styles
Tap
Our tap classes offer students of all ages the chance to have fun exploring a world of rhythm and beats. From the old fashioned style performed by Ginger Rogers and Gene Kelley to the modern industrial stylings of Tap Dogs. Classes cover both CSTD set syllabus and general work.
Jazz/Hip Hop
These classes incorporate a diverse range of styles including modern jazz, hip hop and funk. Senior classes also cover lyrical and contemporary dance. Students gain flexibility and strength through stretching exercises, and develop an appreciation of movement to different styles of music. CSTD modern jazz set syllabus work also covered.
Classical Ballet
Students are trained in classical movement and technique and our classes include barre, centre and floor work. We follow the CSTD syllabus which also includes the study of demi and national character dances. Classical ballet instils a sense of discipline in our students and also helps them achieve a strong and limbered body, as well as strong technique. Senior level classes progress to pointe work.
Preschool Dance
These classes are designed for preschoolers from 3 years of age. A fun class which introduces our youngest students to a wide variety of dance styles, covering tap, ballet and jazz, creative movement and singing. Children gain confidence, musicality, fitness, socialisation, co-ordination and rhythm. Girls and boys participate in these classes.
Boys Only Class
Our boys only classes are packed with raw energy, fun and funky moves. A combination of jazz, hip hop & tap ensures that boys who participate in these classes have an outlet for their boundless energy! We encourage our students to develop their own style and this class provides a great environment for boys to grow as they explore the world of dance.
Singing
As well as students covering some general singing in our theatrical dance classes, children from 5 years of age may be trained in modern vocal singing.
Birthday Parties
Dance parties are available for children aged 3-12yrs. Choose from Disco, Fairy, Princess themes or choose your own. Parties are 2hr duration including Face Painting, Dance Class, Games and Free Time. Parties may be booked on Sundays or School Holiday times.
