Jindivick - Broughton Hall Garden

Jindivick - Broughton Hall Garden

The garden at Broughton Hall is more than 25 years old. The banks, lawns, paths, steps and garden beds were designed and constructed in 1996. Since then it has been the variety of plants, the density of planting and the original, eclectic nature of the planting scheme that has evolved to become a major feature of this garden.

The design remains strong and impressive. The planting. original and varied, and the setting, breathtaking. This is a garden to spend time in, slowly moving from one area to another, sitting in every seat, observing, contemplating and relaxing, feeling the integrity with which it was created and appreciating the beauty that The Garden at Broughton Hall offers every visitor.

The garden at Broughton Hall is stunning in early spring, September, when the bulbs start popping up and around the time of cherry blossom in October but it is around Melbourne cup weekend when the roses are in full bloom, lasting through to December.

In autumn the bulbs feature again, with autumn roses and the autumn colour, of course, all with the backdrop of tightly clipped hedges and autumn leaves falling everywhere.

Winter with the mist of the water, bare branches, and exposed hedging is a very beautiful time as well, it is a garden for all seasons now.
