Hawthorn Tennis Club (Hawthorn)

The Hawthorn Tennis Club has been in existence since 1905; it is one of the oldest tennis clubs in Melbourne.

Hawthorn Tennis Club has seven red porous (en-tout-cas) courts, four of which are under lights for night play.

The Hawthorn Tennis Club has a long and proud history of competition tennis. We have players competing in Junior's, Men's, Women's, and Mixed teams. Current competitions that the Club participates in include Tennis Victoria Pennant, Bayside Regional Tennis Association, Blackburn Districts Night Competition and Eastern Regions Tennis Association.

Sunday Social tennis has been played at the Hawthorn Tennis Club since 1946. We believe that we are the only Club in Melbourne that offers this long standing tradition of "drop in" organised social play on a Sunday. All members (and potential members keen to get an introduction to the Club) are welcome to come down on a casual basis from 2pm on any Sunday for a set or three of social doubles tennis. No reservations required, just turn up if you feel like a hit!

There are a variety of other groups playing regularly at the Club on a social basis, either on week days or evenings.

Kelly Cooper from Straight Sets is the Head Coach at the Hawthorn Tennis Club. Kelly offers group and private lessons for players of all standards, squad training, detailed technical coaching and holiday clinics. Kelly also organises Hawthorn Tennis Club's junior competition teams.

Court Hire - Hawthorn Tennis Club is a members only Club - we do not hire out courts on a casual basis to non-members
