Glencairn Tennis Club (Hopetoun Avenue Brunswick West)

Founded in 1922 the club has two sets of courts: Haig Avenue, Coburg and Hopetoun Avenue, West Brunswick. Membership entitles access to both facilities.

Glencairn Tennis Club has 2 synthetic courts that are fully lit at Fraser Reserve, Hopetoun Avenue, Brunswick West. There is also a drinking tap, courtside seating, clubroom with toilets at the location.

Membership
We offer various membership categories and a discount for family memberships. In addition to the obvious personal benefits of joining an active community group, a summary of membership entitlements are as follows:

Use of the courts at any time between the hours of 7am & 10.30pm (except during competition, coaching or club sanctioned events)
Eligibility to play competition representing the club
Eligibility to participate in social events
Entitled to join the club management committee
Membership of Tennis Victoria

Competition
Our club proudly competes in various local and regional competitions; the competitions offered cater for players from beginner to elite. Members can nominate to play in a team, friends can enter teams together or the club can place individuals in a team that suits their standard. Competition is a great way to meet other members, improve skills through regular play and make friends through tennis.

Competitions we compete in are:

Junior Competition - NSJTA (singles & doubles or doubles only) - Played on Saturday mornings and Friday nights (for the more advanced), this is an interclub competition played against other clubs located from the northern suburbs of Melbourne
Adult Competition - NSTA (singles & doubles or doubles only) - Played on Saturday afternoons this is an interclub competition played against surrounding clubs from northern suburbs of Melbourne
Midweek Ladies - NSLTA (doubles) - Played on Thursdays from 10am-2pm (including a very social lunch break) this is an interclub competition played against surrounding clubs from northern suburbs of Melbourne
Night Tennis - NSNTA (doubles) - Played on Tuesday Evenings (ladies), Wednesday Evenings (mixed) and Thursday evenings (mens) this is an interclub competition played against surrounding clubs from northern suburbs of Melbourne
Pennant (singles & doubles or doubles only) - Played on either Saturdays or Sundays (at team's discretion) this is an interclub competition played against clubs across Melbourne. This competition is suited to the stronger player who enjoys the challenge of playing rubbers and players looking to improve their tennis

Social Tennis
Regular social tennis is held at the Haig Avenue courts every Friday evening. Members and non-members are welcome.

Coaching
Leanne Melgaard of Sure Shot Tennis Coaching is the club coach at Glencairn Tennis Club. Leanne is a Tennis Australia accredited professional coach who runs programs for children and adults at both of our locations. Leanne and her staff are fully insured and very experienced. Coaching services are available to both members and non‐members at competitive rates.
