Gentle Annie - Lawson Falls

Gentle Annie - Lawson Falls

Lawson Falls is a cascade type waterfall on Lawson Creek in the Bunyip State Forest. Getting a clear view of the whole falls can be difficult since there is significant growth around them. It is possible to get close to the falls but it is a little precarious and there is no proper viewing area.

The falls can be accessed by a difficult 4.9km return walk from the Lawson Falls Picnic Ground at the corner of Forest Road and Tea Tree Road. Follow the left branching road (Tea Tree Road) for a few hundred metres until Ryson Creek crosses the road. The sign for the start of the walking track is here. A few attributes of the walk are overgrown, steep in sections, narrow leeches ...

The easiest way to see the falls is to continue north along Forest Road for about three kilometres and look for a sign which has directions for The Lawson Falls Walking Track and Discovery Walking Track. From this point the walk to the falls only takes a few minutes. One downside is that there is no off-road parking in this area and there is only room for a few cars. Parts of Forest Road are gravel but should be OK for a 2WD vehicle.

Lawson Falls Picnic Ground has some picnic tables, toilets, wood fire BBQ (BYO firewood). The water is untreated and should not be drunk. There are no facilities at the falls.
