Frankston Music Society

Frankston Music Society made up of the Frankston Symphony Orchestra and the Mornington Peninsula Chorale.

We have been proudly presenting concerts in Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula for over 50 years. We welcome new inquiries from choralists and musicians interested in joining. Rich in musical history the Frankston Music Society was founded in 1967 by the world-renowned pianist Vera Bradford and fellow residents from the area. The orchestra was formed first in 1968, with the chorale to follow in 1979.

The Frankston Music Society Inc is a not for profit organisation and relies on membership fees and donations for our continued survival.

Frankston Symphony Orchestra

Frankston Symphony Orchestra is one of ten community orchestras in Victoria. We are an enthusiastic group of community musicians generously volunteering our time and experience to bring orchestral performances to the stage. We are always looking for young musicians who are keen to join our orchestra.

We are based in the Melbourne suburb of Frankston on the Mornington Peninsula. We always support our young soloists and ensemble musicians who are the future of orchestral music in Melbourne and keeping it alive.

Mornington Peninsula Chorale

The Mornington Peninsula Chorale is a Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass Community Choir (SATB Choir). The choir forms a part of the Frankston Music Society, which also includes the Frankston Symphony Orchestra.

The choir perform an annual Oratorio concert with the Frankston Symphony Orchestra as well as singing at the Frankston Symphony Orchestra Proms concert and presenting a festive Christmas concert.

The choir was formed in 1979 and has over 90 active members. It involves many members who also perform in other local and city based choirs.

Opening Hours:

Frankston Symphony Orchestra rehearses rehearses Thursday evenings school terms, 7.45pm to 10.15pm at St Paul's School, Minimbah Court, Frankston.

Mornington Peninsula Chorale rehearses Tuesday evenings school terms, 7.30pm to 9.30pm at St Paul's School, Minimbah Court, Frankston.
