Fishermens Bend Gymnastic Club (Port Melbourne)
Fishermen's Bend Gymnastic Club is a community gymnastics club that has been operating in the Port Melbourne area for over 50 years.
At Fishermen's Bend Gymnastic Club, our aim is to offer people in our community safe and enjoyable participation in gymnastics as a sport and deliver programs by trained staff in a positive learning environment that promotes physical and emotional development and wellbeing.
We currently offer gymnastics classes to children from pre-school to teenagers. All sessions are run by appropriately qualified and experienced gymnastics coaches. Fishermens Bend Gymnastic Club is a member of Gymnastics Victoria.
Programs
Kindergym (Preschool)
Kindergym is a motor development program for preschoolers which develops fundamental movement patterns, coordination, balance, strength, flexibility and fine and gross motor skills through exploratory play, games and music. Kindergym is a great way to get your child active and prepare them for pre-school and school!
Launchpad (Prep - 18yrs)
The Launch Pad Levels Program is designed for children who are school aged. Children learn fundamental gymnastic skills like cartwheels, handstands, forward and backward rolls plus motor skills and spatial awareness in a positive learning environment. Launch Pad skills are an important tool to set your child up for success.
Classes are streamed by ability so all beginner Gymnasts will start in a Fundamentals class and graded into bronze, silver or gold by their coach. Gymnasts are then individually assessed throughout each Term and have the opportunity to progress to the next level when they are ready. Children who are in Grade 4 or above who are beginners are recommended to join one of our 6pm Fundamentals classes which are designed for beginner Gymnasts of this age.
All of our Launchpad classes are Co-Ed apart from our boys specific classes.
Competitive Gymnastics
If your child loves Gymnastics and is interested in a higher level of commitment and more opportunity to compete in events then our squad program might be worth considering. Fishermen's Bend runs a mixed gender Gymstar Squad program with Gymnasts competing in Levels 3-8.
Entry into our squad program is by invitation only to ensure Gymnasts are in a program they enjoy and where they can excel. This program requires a high level of natural strength, flexibility, co-ordination and mental toughness and we assess these through a selection process.
School Holiday Programs
Fishermens Bend Gymnastic Club's Holiday Program operates from 8.00am-6.00pm and is a fun filled day of Gymnastics lessons, art and craft sessions, supervised free time on gymnastics equipment and a movie at the end of the day. It is open to ALL children of school age (Prep+ and must be already attending school) so you don't have to be a member of FBGC to enrol!

Whatever the age or occasion Fishermens Bend Gymnastic Club can provide a perfect party!
A fun and active afternoon that can be tailored to all age groups, with a special Fishermens Bend Gymnastic Club themed party bag to take home.
Competitively to local play centres, we can provide an option suits you best - a healthy options menu from local Port Melbourne businesses or work in with your own choice of caterer. All parties are run by senior coaches and provide party people with a great introduction to gymnastics - tumbling, leaping and rolling aplenty.
