Essendon Theatre Company (Essendon West)
The Essendon Theatre Company is a local community-based theatre company located in inner-city Melbourne. Essendon Theatre Company has a long and proud history of producing quality community theatre in Essendon. It produces four production per year including dramas, comedies and pantomimes and since it's formation in 1976, Essendon Theatre Company has produced more than one hundred productions.
Essendon Theatre Company is a member of The Victorian Drama League (VDL) and annually submits one production as part of the VDL Awards. Essendon Theatre Company is run on the love and commitment of passionate theatre lovers and volunteers dedicated to amateur theatre and runs from the Bradshaw Street Community Hall in Essendon.

Essendon Theatre Company is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with all aspects of production! There are lots of ways you can get involved - it really just depends on what you are interested in! Essendon Theatre Company also welcomes young people from the local community who might be keen to learn about or get involved with local community theatre! Most activities take place in the evenings and on weekends.

You can get involved in a number of ways including:
Performing and Directing - All Essendon Theatre Company productions are cast by audition which are open to anyone. All cast members are required to become members of Essendon Theatre Company. Essendon Theatre Company is also always keen to hear from anyone interested in directing a play as part of the Essendon Theatre Company production season.
Backstage - There are many aspects to backstage including Stage Management, General Backstage, Lighting Design and Operation, Audio Design and Operation, Set Design and Construction, Co-Directing, Costuming and Make-up.
Front-of-House - One way that you can be involved at Essendon Theatre Company without committing a great deal of time is to work front-of-house. Front-of-house duties include preparation of the theatre, greeting patrons, selling drinks and confectionery, program sales and ushering.
