Elsternwick Cricket Club (Brighton)

Elsternwick Cricket Club (Brighton)

Elsternwick Cricket Club, established in 1901, is a foundation member of the VSDCA (Victorian Sub District Cricket Association). The club has four Senior men's teams playing on turf, Junior boys and Blasters programs. Women's, girls and over 60s coming soon. Inclusive and welcoming of all players of any ability.

Senior Men

Elsternwick Cricket Club is affiliated with the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association (VSDCA) for its senior competitions. The VSDCA is considered Victoria's second most senior turf competition and its 28 member clubs are divided among four geographically aligned groups (North, South, East and West). Elsternwick is in the South group and plays its fellow South group clubs once every season. The 1st and 2nd XIs also play against one of the other three groups (North, East, West) each season on a rotating basis. The 3rd and 4th XIs play against the East Group each season, thus reducing travel for the lower levels of competition.

The Association accommodates players of all abilities with the 1st XI comprising many ex-Premier players who have decided to step back from the demands of Premier cricket along with experienced suburban cricketers and up and coming younger players. The lower grades cater for players of varying ability and experience with the 4th XI often a mixture of mature cricketers and junior players getting their first taste of senior turf cricket.

Senior Women

Elsternwick Cricket Club are participating in Cricket Southern Bayside Women's league for the first time for season 2021/22.

The programme will very much be catering to anyone wanting to give cricket a go with our team of very experienced cricket coaches providing a tailored programme to develop skills from the ground up in all aspects of the game.

The Cricket Southern Bayside Womens comprises clubs from Richmond to Bonbeach, games are a modified T 20 format, played on a Sunday afternoon, and usually go for 2-3 hours.

Coaching and Junior Development - Elsternwick Cricket Club aims to appoint accredited coaches to all teams.
