Edwin Flack Reserve Athletics Track (Berwick)

Edwin Flack Reserve Athletics Track (Berwick)

The track is managed by the Casey City Council and is available to the public when not being used by clubs or for competitions. The track is used by the Berwick Little Athletics Centre and TXR Running Club. The Berwick Secondary College regularly use the outdoor sporting facilities.

The park, in addition to the athletics track, has a playground in the adjoining Howell Drive Reserve.

The reserve's oval and athletics track are lined with plaques commemorating Australia's gold medallists from every modern Olympic Games together with a tree that has an association with the country that hosted the Games. The plaques were an initiative of the Edwin Flack Centenary Committee in 1995 to commemorate the centenary of Edwin Flack's gold medal win. There are no plaques for the years 1916, 1940 and 1944 because of World Wars 1 and 2.

The 400m synthetic track has 8 lanes in the circular section and 10 lanes in the straight section. There is also an eight-lane grass straight next to the main straight.

There are long jump pits (4x), high jump fans (1x), discus circles (2x), shot put circles (2x) and javelin runways (1x).

There is no water jump, pole vault pits or hammer circles.
