Edithvale Life Saving Club

Edithvale Life Saving Club

Founded in 1919, Edithvale Life Saving Club is committed to upholding the longstanding tradition of protecting the public on our beach. Our members consist of family groups, children, teenagers and adults all with one thing in common, a love of our beach. With a passionate committee and membership group, we are committed to upholding the longstanding tradition of protecting the public on our beach.

Membership is open to everyone and it's a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, get fit or simply support a vital community service. Become the life at our beach and continue the life saving tradition that has spanned over 100 years.

Nippers - The lifesaver is an Australian icon and for most, nippers is where it all begins. The program is all about teaching our children about safety in the water in a fun environment and is a great way for your kids to reinforce the skills gained from their swimming lessons. Nippers are taught skills in beach and board racing for competition, this is NOT a swimming lesson program. The program can also provide you with useful skills such as leadership, teamwork and communication that will enable you to become a fully-fledged lifesaver. Not to mention the great friends to be made along the way! Members up to the age of 14 can participate in nippers training, however the minimum age to be eligible for competition is 7 yrs old.

Our Nippers program operates on Sunday mornings from 10am to 11:30am (10am to 11am for U6) from November through to March.
