Doutta Galla Tennis Club (Essendon North)

Doutta Galla Tennis Club is a small club with three poly clay courts, where everyone is welcome. Poly Clay is an artificial clay surface designed to imitate the clay courts of Europe, without the high maintenance. Polyclay courts can be played immediately after rain, and often play better!

The Doutta Galla Tennis Club has since held a consistent membership base over the years and prides itself on being a very closely knit and family oriented club. Doutta Galla has had, and continues to have, a strong representation of families join the club, which provides the backbone of our club with strong junior development. Some families make up entire teams. However, new members and families are always welcome to join in the fun of competitive or social tennis.

Rated as a small to mid sized club, Doutta Galla has consistently fielded strong and competitive teams for many years and has been very successful during this time. We pride ourselves on our achievements, while never letting serious competition get in the way of our entertainment.

Competition
The Northern Suburban Tennis Association (NSNTA) competitions
The Doutta Galla Tennis Club has many teams in many different competitions, all are available to members.

NSNTA Night Competition - Doubles competition played on weeknights. Ladies play on a Tuesday night, Mixed play on a Wednesday night and Men play on a Thursday night. Matches start from 7:00pm. Players play in three sets each with different partners. Seasons are played in Autumn and Spring.

NSTA Saturday Afternoon Competition - A mixed doubles competition played from 1:00pm on a Saturday Afternoon. Three women and three men play three sets of doubles each. Seasons are played in Summer and Winter.

NSLTA Midweek Ladies Competition - A ladies only doubles competition played on a Thursday. Four Ladies per team play three sets each starting from 10:00am. Seasons are played in Autumn and Spring.

NSJTA Juniors - Competition for boys and girls under the age of 17, both doubles and singles can be played depending on the team's grade. Played on a Saturday Morning, but a competition can be scheduled to play on a Friday Night by the Association.

Tennis Victoria Pennant - A Melbourne wide competition played between clubs affiliated with Tennis Victoria. The Season is played over winter.

Coaching
Our club is fortunate enough to have a full time coach that will help everyone learn the game of tennis, or to improve their own game. Our coach is Anthony Guccione from Guccione Tennis.

Court Hire
Both club members and the public may book a court.
Book a court

Visitors may accompany members to the Club to play tennis at any times. All playing visitors are asked to pay the visitors fee of $5 per player.
