Corryong Circuit Trail Walk
This 5.5km loop trail provides a pathway that connects points of cultural, natural and historical significance around Corryong township. Surrounded by mountains and steeped in history, there is much to see.
Corryong is prettily settled amongst the grand foothills of the Australian Alps.
The Corryong Circuit Trail is comprised of a sealed pathway beginning in the centre of town and then following a loop along Corryong's outer streets. It provides valuable recreation options for residents and visitors alike. It also provides an excellent perspective on the town and the marvellous surrounding landscapes.
Enjoy Corryong in any season. It is a town of many colours. Spring sees rich greenery, summer the dry yellow of the warmer months, autumn the vivid glory of a deciduous fall and winter the white of snowcaps. Don't forget to always carry water, food, wear appropriate clothing and be SunSmart.
The trail itself consists of concrete footpaths negotiable by all ages. The route is urban / periurban with great views from the high points. There are mild slopes to the more elevated parts of town.
Hanson Street is home to the Corryong CBD with visitor information, shops, cafes, historic and cultural offerings. There are seats, picnic tables, potable water, and clean public toilets.

Points of Interest
1. Corryong Visitor Information Centre
The Visitor Information Center is the ideal place to start your exploration of the town. Volunteers can answer your enquiries about all aspects of the town and wider region.
2. All the necessary amenities
In the very popular park surrounding the Information Centre you will find a playground, amphitheatre, picnic tables and BBQs, potable water and clean public toilets.
3. Hanson Street
Hanson Street is the township's main shopping and business district catering to the needs of locals and visitors alike.
4. Corryong Recreation Reserve
The Recreation Reserve is a pretty home for the football, netball, tennis and golf clubs. It is also a very popular place for walkers to take time out amongst abundant greenery.
5. Corryong Public Golf Course
Whether for golfing or walking these fine avenues of mature trees attract many locals and visitors.
6. Public swimming pool
Everyone is welcome to take a cooling summer dip at the pool.
7. Agricultural machinery
The Rotary Club, the Men's Shed and Corryong Historic Machinery Club are housed in three neighbouring buildings fronted by interesting aged agricultural machinery.
8. Metro tram
There is even a Metro tram awaiting its next incarnation.
9. Wetlands are coming
Cemetery Creek drains into this pasture of majestic River Red Gums. Watch this already attractive space for the coming rehabilitation of thriving wetlands once located here.
10. Galleon Park
This is a great mid point to take a break. There is a children's playground including the "Apex Resolution" play ship. The structure was so named by the Apex Club involved in its establishment.
11. Corryong Cemetery
The historic cemetery is worth exploring. This resting ground has many stories to tell. That of 'The Man from Snowy River' amongst them. It is well maintained, has seating and public toilets.
12. Jack Riley's grave
As you enter the main entrance to the cemetery read the informative sign telling of the man and the legend. Follow up with a visit to the grave of the man himself.
13. View across town to Mt Mittamatite
This is the more elevated part of the walk. The views are very appealing.
14. Urgent Care Centre
For visitors it is worth knowing Corryong Health offers a two bay urgent medical treatment facility.
15. Playles Hill Park and Lookout
No visit to Corryong is complete without taking in the views over the town and vast mountainous landscapes from the lookout points on Playles Hill. See the link to the Playles Lookout Walk.
16. Donaldson Street view
Another excellent town based view of Mt Mittamatite.
17. Period housing
Corryong offers a diversity of housing stock for the residential observer. There are some period gems.
18. Corryong Uniting Church
Pretty as a picture in the light of evening.
