Caulfield Racecourse Dog Off Leash Area (Caulfield East)

Caulfield Racecourse Dog Off Leash Area (Caulfield East)

There is a public space in the middle of Caulfield Racecourse which has a dog off leash area. In theory the off leash area is a fenced area west of the public car park in the centre of the racecourse. However, this area is not totally enclosed by a fence because there is a huge gap near the large electronic screen. Nevertheless, there are some facilities for dogs in this area such as a water tap with bowl.

In practice, dog owners allow their dogs to roam far and wide off leash, especially around the lake which is a pleasant and popular area. Near the carpark are public BBQs, water tap, unshaded table, toilets, outdoor gym, playground, big grassy areas and lake for fishing (catch and release).

The reserve is accessed via a tunnel from the Glen Eira Road Entrance (corner of Kambrook Road) or the Guineas Tunnel Entrance (Gate 21) which are open after 9:45 am. There is public access every day apart from race days and major events.
