Burden Park Tennis Club (Springvale South)

Burden Park Tennis Club is a community based club founded in 1960. Our courts are situated at the eastern (Olympic Avenue) end of Burden Park in Springvale.

Our membership comprises a diverse range of demographics and nationalities and caters for players of all ages and standards. We have competition teams across all levels; Juniors, Seniors, Night tennis, Pennant and mid-week ladies and mens, but also a strong social tennis following. Coaching is available for players of all standards.

Our Club has six en tout cas (clay) courts that are all floodlit for night tennis and are also available for casual hire. We have a spacious clubhouse with a fully equipped kitchen and change room facilities and also an outdoor shelter and barbeque.

Our facilities are largely maintained by the volunteer work of our members which has established a strong sense of community within the Club. Similarly, the Club is run by an energetic committee of volunteer members.

Coaching
At Burden Park Tennis Club the development of players at all levels is strongly supported and catered for; from the Junior Hot Shots program through to Junior tournament players and Senior devotees.

Instruction at the grassroots level is a particularly high priority. It begins with Hot Shots instruction for children aged 7 to 11 and follows on with personalised individual instruction for those interested in developing their skills and understanding of the game further.

Juniors are encouraged to participate in Saturday morning competition conducted by the Waverley and Districts Tennis Association as well as junior tournaments held throughout school holiday periods.

For new members to the Club and adults looking to refine their skills further, private tuition is also available from our coaching staff.

Social Tennis
Social tennis is available on Tuesday and Sunday mornings and new members and casual players of all standards are welcome to attend and join in for some fun, exercising and socialising. A visitors fee of $5 applies. New players who are beginners are encouraged to have coaching lessons before attending.

The courts are available for casual hire at all times with the exception of Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday mornings when they are being used for competition and social tennis.
If Burden Park Tennis Club members bring visitors, they are each required to pay a 'Visitors Fee' of $5.00.
