Box Hill and District Scottish Society (Surrey Hills)
Box Hill and District Scottish Society holds Scottish country dancing classes at Surrey Hills Uniting Church, every Tuesday March to November at Surrey Hills Uniting Church in Surrey Hills. Beginners and experienced dancers welcome.
The class commences at 8pm during March but from April, at 7.30 pm, we begin with a beginner's session. This consists of teaching the various steps and dances that involve the basic formations included in many Scottish Country Dances. As the evening progresses, the dances become more complex. For some of these dances, beginners can join in with a more experienced partner. Others are for experienced dancers only and beginners are encouraged to watch. A cup of tea or coffee is served at some stage during, or at the end of, the evening. Dancing concludes about 10pm.
