Basterfield Park Tennis Club (Hampton East)
Basterfield Park Tennis Club was established in 1967 and is situated in the picturesque Basterfield Park in Hampton East. Basterfield Park Tennis Club is affiliated with Tennis Victoria and Bayside Regional Tennis Association.
The club has six tennis courts altogether (three hard courts and three artificial grass courts). Four of the courts have lights. The courts are used for coaching, club competitions and social play.
Membership
Membership entitles you to a range of benefits including:
- Your own personal key to the courts
- Social night tennis competitions
- Club competitions
- Clubhouse and facilities use
- The right to nominate for membership of the club committee
- The right to vote at the Annual General Meeting
Competition
We have a number of social and inter-club competitions.
Social night competitions are held on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. Adult members of all abilities are encouraged to join the competitions.
Mens inter-club competitions are held on Tuesday nights.
Ladies inter-club competitions are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Junior competitions are held on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
The "Oz Open Eve Mixed Doubles" competition is held on the Eve of the Australian Open. This is a social competition aimed to have members play with other members they wouldn't normally play with/against during the year. It is a great opportunity to meet new people. Similarly, "Wimblefield" is a social competition held on the Eve of Wimbledon. The format is doubles round-robin with a Wimbledon twist.
Coaching
David Whyte offers coaching lessons for all ages and standards. Group and private lessons are available.
David is also a qualified personal trainer and will create a personalised fitness program. Sessions are held in the picturesque Basterfield Park, on the courts or in the clubhouse. You can combine a tennis and personal training session.
Court Hire
At Basterfield Park Tennis Club we offer non-members the opportunity to hire our courts. Members are encouraged to bring their friends along to enjoy our courts. Friends of members are $5 per visit. Friends are encouraged to join the club after three visits.
Non-members may hire courts at a rate of $30 per hour.
