Arc One Gallery (Central Melbourne)

Arc One Gallery is a leading Australian contemporary art gallery located on Flinders Lane, in the heart of the Melbourne arts precinct.

Established in 2001, Arc One is a commercial gallery that represents some of Australia's most highly respected contemporary artists who, through their use of a variety of media and conceptual ideas, represent the cultural diversity of contemporary Australia. Since its inception, the Gallery has presented a program of exceptional solo exhibitions and dynamic group shows.

Arc One represents significant contemporary Australian artists including Janet Laurence, Imants Tillers, Pat Brassington, Lyndell Brown/Charles Green, Julie Rrap, Anne Zahalka, Robert Owen, John Davis, Dani Marti and Maria Fernanda Cardoso. These artists have been consistently included in major international exhibitions and recognised with esteemed awards within Australia and abroad. Several of the Gallery's artists have represented Australia at the Venice Biennale, including John Davis (1978), Robert Owen (1978) and Imants Tillers (1986). ARC ONE also represents key Chinese artists including John Young, Guan Wei, Huang Xu, Guo Jian and Cyrus Tang.

As well as representing established and mid-career artists, Arc One Gallery also supports the practices of Australia's most promising emerging artists, bringing together a diverse spectrum of disciplines from painting and sculpture to photography, installations, video and other electronic media arts. ARC ONE is committed to continuing the development and intellectual rigour of contemporary art from its Melbourne base.

Known for its rigorous support of Australian art and for a deep and enduring devotion to gallery artists, over the past 17 years Arc One Gallery has fostered close and collaborative relationships with museums, curators and consultants in Australia, Asia, USA and Europe. Many Arc One artists are featured in prestigious Australian and international public collections, and ARC ONE has been involved with major public commissions, including Webb Bridge for Robert Owen in collaboration with Denton Corker Marshall in Docklands, Melbourne, and the large colourful installations by Nike Savvas for Macquarie Bank, Sydney, and the Nike Building, San Francisco, USA. Recently Sydney-based artist Janet Laurence presented a major installation, Deep Breathing: Resuscitation for the Reef, at the National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris as part of the globally recognised 2015 Artists 4 Paris Climate.

With Directors Fran Clark and Suzanne Hampel at the helm, Arc One Gallery's commitment to excellence and quality in contemporary Australian art remains unchanged.
